The Dean of Scientific Research at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Nahdi, met with the faculty members on Wednesday 27/11/2019 at the Theater of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences to announce the supported research programs for 2020.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of Scientific Research welcomed faculty members from the university city as well as those who were available through the channels of communication with the branches in Hawtat Bani Tamim, Al-Aflaj, Al-Salil and Wadi Al-Dawasir, both men and women. The dean also urged everyone to take advantage of the Deanship supported programs, which would increase the research competence of faculty member and raise the university's rating in journals and distinguished publishing channels.
Answering a question about new research programs supported for this year, the Dean of Scientific Research said that the Deanship has several programs, including:
_ New faculty members Support program, which means supporting new faculty members who have recently obtained their Ph.D. and who were appointed to the rank of assistant professor at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University no more than three years ago, to benefit from one time.
_ Research Groups Support Program, a program to support groups of researchers with a homogeneous or interdisciplinary specializations background, who share a common research interest, have high research capabilities and expertise, as well as new researchers and graduate students to be trained and acquire research experiences.
_ Supporting Research Projects with Global Partnership, a program to support research groups in a global partnership through distinguished faculty members from the university and distinguished faculty or researchers from universities or international research institutions in the field of scientific research.
Regarding incentive bonuses offered by the Deanship, the Dean of Scientific Research announced the creation of new incentives for research excellence and the publication humanities research in English. They are applied to through e-services rubric at the Deanship website.
Up to a maximum of 50% of the faculty member teaching load prescribed by the Council of Higher Education universities regulations, the faculty member may benefit from a time program in order to balance teaching and research performance.
The Deanship also grants a prize for outstanding publication of research published in the top 20% of journals in the specialization, and a prize for research that has been highly cited by other researchers.
At the end of the meeting, the Dean of Scientific Research thanked faculty members for their interest in the Deanship’s programs, stressing the need to visit the Deanship’s page on the university’s website to take advantage of its various services and programs.
